Hanford, CA -- In an all green 30 lap
feature, Craig Stidham posted a $1500 win in the Rebel
Winged 360 Sprint Cars on Saturday night at Kings
Speedway. Stidham had timed in sixth quick and fifth quick
Lawrence Edlund chased Stidham to the checkered flag for
the $1000 runnerup prize. Edward is driving for Davey Key
in 2005. Fresh off a Petaluma win, young Robert
Ballou was a $650 third and Andy Ferris ran
fourth.
Garrett Ishii was quickest
of the 13 Rebel Winged 360 sprint cars in time trials on
the 3/8 mile clay oval with a 13.968 clocking. Tommy
Tarlton was the only other car in the 13s at 13.985 and
Brian Coelho ranked third with his 14.008. Ferris ran a
14.140 and Edlund a 14.206. Stidham was sixth quick at
14.210. Monty Ferreira won the first heat race in front of
Peter Murphy and Key as Ishii ran fourth. Young Jeff Delte
was the heat 2 winner ahead of Stidham, Ballou and Ferris.
Ricci Faria was 7th quick but missed the call for his heat
race and tagged the feature. The all green feature found
Stidham winning ahead of Edlund, Ballou, Ferris, Tarlton,
Murphy, Delte, Faria and Coelho as Ishii ran 10th.
On April 9, the Bandit
unwinged 360 sprint cars return to join the Rebel Winged
360 sprint cars, IMCA Modifieds and Hot Stocks in action.
