A Weekend Of Consistency For Ballou Motorsports
by Gary Costa
May 7, 2006...With two races on the schedule this past weekend, the team hauled the potent Ballou Motorsports, Gardemeyer Finish Carpentry, THR & Sons, Gliko Hardware & Construction, SCHLAGE, Kaeding Performance, MPD, Swimming Pool Perfection’s, A1A Performance Mufflers, NAAKE Suspension Specialists, Don Ott powered MAXIM to race at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA Friday night, and Fernley, NV for the Golden State Challenge Series race on Saturday.

To finish first, you first must finish, and Robert has been doing just that, by doing a superb job with his consistency on the race track to bring home 5th and 6th place finishes for the weekend..

Friday in Chico 410 Sprint Car action, we arrived late missing hotlaps. With no laps "The Rocklin Rocket" hit the track and ripped out a super fast 12.117, which would have timed the #12 in a solid 3rd out of 31 cars.

After being dubbed over the decibel meter, Robert hit the track hard again, and timed in the top 10.

We rolled out in the 7th position for heat #1, and once again Robert was on the loud pedal, and proceeded to put the immaculately prepared mount in the main event.

After starting 11th in the stellar field, "Rocket" was mashing the gas again! When the checkered flag fell on the 25 lap event, we crossed the line finishing a solid 6th.

The next night was a tow into Fernley, NV as it was time to do battle with the stars from the Golden State Challenge Series.

Robert quickly started where he left off in Chico the night before, by getting the elbows up and winning heat race #3, from his 4th starting position..

In the main event, we rolled out in 10th starting spot, and Robert brought home an extremely respectable 5th place finish by being smart and saving his tires on a very abrasive track surface.

Our next event will be with the GSC series May, 10th at Placerville Speedway this Wednesday night for "Wild Winged Wednesday"

Come down to the trailer and meet Robert and the crew!
