"Wild Winged Wednesday" Ballou Motorsports
by Gary Costa
May 11, 2006...We hit the road and headed for Placerville Speedway's bullring for Golden State
Challenge Series action.

"Wild Winged Wednesday" became an understatement for us, as 24 cars showed up for a beautiful evening of racing.

Robert rocketed around the speedway at a 10.366. Good enough for the 5th quickest in the evening.

We missed the transfer out of our heat, which put us in the semi. Robert was running away with the race when he ran up on a lapped car, and had no where to go and executed an easy layover.

The crew, led by Darin Smith and everyone who lent a hand did a masterful job to get the Ballou Motorsports #12 back out on the track. A huge thanks to all!

Words, race recaps, or results will never describe the excitement and drama that awaited the fans for the main event.

The main event rolled out, and "The Rocklin Rocket" lined up in his 22nd starting spot in the tough field.

When the green flag dropped, Robert immediatley got his elbows up, and was quickly moving forward on a surface that wasn't made for a lot of passing. The Gardemeyer Finish Carpentry, THR & Sons, Gliko Hardware & Construction, SCHLAGE, Kaeding Performance, MPD, Swimming Pool Perfection's, A1A Performance Mufflers, NAAKE Suspension Specialists, Don Ott powered Maxim was picking off cars and charging to the front.

Lap after lap, "Rocket" was up on the wheel and the top of the race track, where he was making it work.

Robert was making a move on the 4th place car, but got caught up with a lapped car, but continued on. When the checkered flew, we crossed the line in the 11th spot.

We would like to thank all the fans that came down after the race and offered Robert their well wishes. Thank you so much!

Be sure to stop by again, as we will be racing at Silver Dollar Speedway t e whole weekend. Friday, we will be racing in 410 weekly action, and then the next night we will be running the prestigous Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial.

We Are Committed To Winning!
