Coming into the night Danny Olmstead was the Joe Hunt Magnetos point leader of the division. It was a tough night for him as he had mechanical problems that forced him not to start the heat race or B main events.

Dennis Fraser led the 20 car-starting field to the green flag. On lap one he spun out in turn two and gave the lead to Justin Funkhouser. B.J. Martin was second followed by Shank. Shank moved into second on lap six and soon pressured Funkhouser for the lead. The young Funkhouser held his own and looked very impressive in leading this race. Shank soon found himself battling for the lead and took it away as the laps were winding down. Hanestad was just working around third place Matt Streeter with two laps remaining. He then passed Funkhouser going into turn three. As the white flag waived, he snuck under Shank in turn one and took the lead coming out of turn two. Shank finished second and Funkhouser was third. Bob Newberry battled up to fourth and will be the new points leader. Ryan McDaniel finished in the fifth spot. Jeremy Hawes came from 17th to sixth.

Jeremy Hawes won the 12-lap semi main. Taylor Simas came home in second. Dan Simpson and Jay Youngman finalized the transfers into the main event.

Matt Streeter won Nor Cal Performance heat one. Dave Hays Jr. led the field to the checkered in heat two. Ryan McDaniel won heat three. David Goodwill led all eight laps to win heat four.

Another strong showing of 31 wingless sprints entered round three of the Feather Falls Casino Friday night series. Fry’s Metals added an extra $200 for the win that went to Hanestad.
