May
29th, 2006...Robert Ballou and The Ballou Motorsports
team showed what perseverance and determination can do, at
Calistoga's nostalgic 1/2 mile speed plant during Golden
State Challenge Series action.
After a rough showing the previous night, the driver and
team pulled up their sleeves and showed the toughness and
determination of a team that never gives up.
For the Gary Patterson Memorial race, Robert qualified
10th, which put him in Heat 1. "The Rocklin
Rocket" not only transferred out of his heat, but he
was also able to start in the super-tough dash, which
determines starting spots for the feature event.
"Rocket" brought home the pristine mount in the
2nd spot.
During the main event, Robert quickly jumped into the
lead, and pulled away. On lap 14, Steve Kent passed
Robert, but Robert kept digging.
After 25 intense laps, The Ballou Motorsports Sprint Car
flashed under the checkered flag, finishing a strong 2nd.
Our next events will be June 2nd at Ocean Speedway in
Watsonville, California & June 3rd at Placerville
Speedway in Placerville, California for more GSC action.
