June 3rd, 2006...It was inevitable that Robert Ballou
and The Ballou Motorsports team would visit victory
lane.
After just missing the win at the Gary Patterson
Memorial a mere 5 days earlier, Robert showed his
versatility as race car driver.
From running Calistoga's huge 1/2 mile to Ocean
Speedways' bullring, "The Rocklin Rocket" is
showing the Sprint Car fraternity that he indeed is
the real deal.
The Darin Smith prepared mount was ready for war as it
rolled out on to the speedway.
Robert qualified 10th, after seeing the joint for the
first time ever in Friday night's Golden State
Challenge Series action.
Robert rolled for Heat race #2, and put the immaculate
#12 in the dash and the main event.
The Don Ott bullet performed flawlessly all night. In
the dash, Robert was putting a hurting on the clay in
Watsonville, California. He brought home the win, in
an impressive wire-to-wire victory.
By virtue of his dash win, "Rocket" started
on the pole and was driving the Ballou Motorsports
MAXIM like it was nobody's business in the competitive
30 lap event.
Again the rising star led wire-to-wire in the main
event to bring home the win. This also marked only the
9th race in the tough Golden State Challenge Series.
Robert, John, Darin & Matt and everyone from
Ballou Motorsports would like to thank everyone for
sticking by our side. This win is for you!
The team will be in action tonight at Placerville
Speedway, please stop by and say hi.
