June 4th, 2006...After
winning the Golden State Challenge Series show the night
before in Watsonville, California, The Ballou Motorsports
team located in Rocklin, California, headed for tight
confines of Placerville Speedway.
"The weekend isn't
over, I love Placerville.", The confident 17 year
old sensation commented just minutes after winning the
previous evening.
It was all business for The
Ballou Motorsports team when they pulled into the gate
at the speedway.
"The Rocklin
Rocket" and The Ballou Motorsports team quickly
showed that the night previous wasn't a fluke.
It was Placerville
Speedway's turn to feel the power of the Don Ott Racing
Engine this night.
The John Ballou owned and
Darin Smith wrenched MAXIM qualified in the 3rd spot.
Robert went out in his heat, did his job on the
Speedway, and transfered not only into the main event,
but the all important dash where he finished 4th.
Like the saying goes;
"When the green flag drops, the bullshit
stops". When the green was thrown, Robert took that
motto to heart. After lap 1, he was already in the 2nd
spot, and charging after the always tough Jonathan
Allard.
Late in the race
"Rocket" drove around Allard on the top. But
the always tough Allard got back by Robert on a restart
in the exciting 30 lapper.
Robert answered back, anted
up, and threw a slide job on Allard and put it all
together for back-to-back wins, and a sweep of Golden
State Challenge Series action.
Robert collected an
additional $1,000 for his sweep. Ex-racer Jerry Ponzo
put up a $500 bonus for Saturday's show, and a fan put
up $500 for Friday night's win. Thank you!
