September 4, 2006...The
Ballou Motorsports team had an eventful evening awaiting
them as they towed through the gates at Placerville
Speedway's bullring.
After timing in a
disappointing and unusual 17th, Robert rolled up his
sleeves and went to work by bringing home the win in
Heat race #2.
When main event action
rolled out, "Rocket" lined up in the 16th spot
on the grid.
When the green flag dropped,
"The Rocklin Rocket" wasted no time, and was
quickly moving forward. Robert was up to the 6th
position midway through the race, when a car spun in
front of him. Robert made contact with the car, and
stopped on the race track, sending the Ballou
Motorsports #12 to the back of the pack.
The determined pilot from
Rocklin wasn't done. When the green came out, he was on
the methanol passing cars on the top and bottom of the
race track. With sheer determination, he crossed the
line in the 5th spot.
Ballou Motorsports would
like to congratulate Greg DeCaires and the John Taylor
Motorsports team on clinching the 2006 Placerville
Speedway title.
Our next race will be
Tuesday at Hanford for the NST race.
